San Francisco

Hi All,
Well sorry we haven't sent an email out for a couple of weeks. We have been so busy and so here are all the updates.
First, we will start with last Tuesday. We got to hear the babies heart beat for the first time and it was healthy and strong!!! Yeah!!! The Dr. said it was 145.
Second, Grant finished finals!! Hallelujah and only has two more quarters lefts.
Third, we took our last vacation before the baby comes to San Francisco and here are some of the highlights.
We started out Wed. and drove as far as Reno. We got up Thurs and went to Donner Memorial and then went to the Jelly Belly Factory in Fairfield. Checked into our hotel and planned our next three days.
Friday we went to Union Square and rode the Cable Cars. We went to Chinatown and then the Aquarium at Pier 39. We walked around Fishermans Wharf and saw the sea lions at Pier 39. We watched the sunset at the Beach down by the Piers. We ate dinner at Ghirardelli Square and rode the Cable Car back to our hotel. This was probably my favorite day.
Sat we went to Alcatraz and Golden Gate Park where we walked through the Japanese Tea Gardens and a little of the Arboretum. We also walked 1/2 way down Lombard Street. Then went back to Ghirardelli Square for dinner and it started to get so cold we rode the cable car back to the hotel. Although we were tired I think this was probably Grant's favorite day.
Sun we drove over the Golden Gate Bridge. It was a dreary day and very chilly. We drove to Muir Wood National Park, but it was too cold and Grant got car sick so we found a beach and walked out to it for about 10 min, but too cold to stay long. We drove back into town and heard about the gas tanker truck that wrecked and exploded causing part of 880 freeway to collapse. As we were figuring out the route home we realized that it took the 3 accesses to Oakland down to 2 and so we decided to stay in and go to bed early so we could leave early to miss traffic Monday morning so it didn't add any additional time to our 11 1/2 hour drive back to Utah.
It was a great trip, but I am glad to be home where we are sleeping in our own bed and not so nervous about watching our surroundings/backs. Maybe I am just paranoid. Ha Ha
Well that is us. For those who don't mind reading attachments (he he) we have attached a couple of pictures from our trip.
Love you all,
Stacie & Grant
